Contemporary dwelling has much more complex requirements than what historical houses have to offer in the rural environment. The need for more rooms and secondary functions translates in ever bigger houses, which would be out of scale in the rural settings of the Romanian mountains.

In order to achieve the necessary scale, but also to fulfill the complex needs of contemporary living, the proposal combines two volumes, articulating them in a manner similar to traditional household compositions.
